Really, was there even a more exciting golf year than what we all witnessed in 2015? The golf season is drawing to a close after creating some memorable moments in golf history that just can’t be ignored. While the President’s Cup will be playing their final games on October 8th through the 11th in Incheon, North Korea, creating even more golf memories to talk about, let us look back at the games that have already been played during the year and the pros that had put their all into their skills to stand out from the rest of the pack.
1: Spieth Shines as One of America’s Top Players
You couldn’t turn around without seeing Jordan Spieth doing something amazing with his golf clubs. He has had a stellar year as he won two PGA Tours, two major wins and finishing in the top four of top players for all four majors. And let’s not forget the payout in winning the FedEx Cup and $10 million annuity. Whether you were biting your fingernails at the near miss at Chambers Bay or his incredible shot at St. Andrews, Jordan Spieth will definitely be a player to watch during 2016.
2: Fowler Shows that the Great Players Always Stand Out
Rickie Fowler showed his anonymous naysayers who thought he was the most overrated player in the game that he deserved his moment in the spotlight. Fowler went on to win the Players Championship, the Deutsche Bank Championship and the Scottish Open. Fowler has something that other players dream about: a steady hand and unwavering dedication to the game. Whatever his critics might say in the future, Fowler proved that 2015 was his year and it was well deserved.
3: Bubba Beating the Odds to Win the World Golf Championship.
If you hadn’t heard of Bubba Watson before, you certainly will look forward to hearing his name in the future after his fantastic display in the WGH-HSBC Champions. He had a 2-percent chance of winning the game. Yet he managed to get the final hole from the greenside bunker to have a chance at a playoff spot against Tim Clark. Although he didn’t make it through the majors, Bubba still had an impressive year by finishing in the top 25 for non-major players.
4: Jason Day’s Remarkable Triumphs at Two playoff Events
We can never forget the spectacular year that Australian Jason Day has had on the golf course. If he wasn’t winning the title at the Barclay, he was putting on his best performance at his first major win at Whistling Strait. Day has made two playoff wins that only enhances his PGA Championship win. When it comes to naming the top golf players in 2015, Jason Day’s name has to be at the top of the list as having a stunning season.
The year 2015 proved to be a golf season that allowed the new players, old players and those who have struggled with the game to really put their best golf foot forward and show amazing gameplay along the links. If you weren’t a golf fanatic before, the pros this season certainly would have won you over as you will now be eager to see what type of A-game they will bring in 2016.
