3 Women Golfers to Watch During 2016

Rising golf stars are the greatest people to watch. They are so focused on the game, yet they have great attitudes over their competition and skills that they bring the golf play to a new dimension. During 2016, there are a number of women golfers who you should keep an eye on. While we expect veterans such as Inbee Park and Stacy Lewis to make headlines, these 3 rookies
could create an epic upset that will be talked about for years.

Gabby Lopez

When you hear the word “rookie” attached to their name, you assume that they still have a few years to find their golf game to become major contenders. Yet Gabby Lopez is turning the golf world on its head by her exceptional playing skills. She entered her rookie year in the LPGA yet she isn’t showing her nerves when playing the game.

With mentors such as Stacy Lewis and Lorena Ochoa helping her career, Lopez is not afraid of winning. She has won numerous collegiate competition events, was the winner of the 2013 Mexican Amateur Open, and was a runner-up in the 2015 NCAA national championships. She also plays yearly at the Walmart NW Arkansas Championship and the Lorena Ochoa Invitational as she shows the determination to perfect her game.

Brooke Hendersen

Brooke Hendersen is no slouch when she picks up the clubs and heads to the golf course. She already sports the title of being one out of three golfers who has won a pro event before the age of 18. Today, she is considered an up-and-coming golf professional who may take a top spot in the standings.

She has the backing to get there by winning her first LPGA Tour event in 2015 at the Cambria Portland Classic and having Top-10 finishes at the U.S. Women’s Open. Brooke Hendersen knows what to do when competition gets fierce, so it is just a matter of time to see just how far her skills will take her.

In Gee Chun

It always seemed like she came out of nowhere and blindsided golfers when she came to win the 2015 U.S. Women’s Open. Even more surprisingly is that she was not an LPGA member at the time. Yet devout followers of In Gee Chun know just how great she is when playing in the KLPGA and JLPGA. She had two major championship career wins in the JLPGA and 8 career wins in the KLPGA. She is now a Tour rookie member of 2016 as In Gee Chun will sure to bag some major wins this year.

Whether these new challengers will be a force to reckon with, or still need more time to perfect their A-game, watch them play during 2016. They will surely bring excitement to any event they take part in.
