Pac Am Giveaway Underway

There are few amateur golf events that can rival the sheer ambition let alone the execution of the fabled Lithia Pacific Amateur Golf Classic, a five-day celebration of competitive golf and camaraderie on some the best Bend golf courses.

Now entering its 18th year the Lithia Pacific Amateur Golf Classic schedule for  Sept 20-25 promises to be better and bigger than ever around Bend golf courses. And if you haven’t experienced it, now is your chance to do it without spending a dime on the event and possibly play.

The Central Oregon Visitors Association, the event organizer, is giving away an entry valued at more than $1,000 that includes three days of golf, lodging and all the accompanying amenities, including demo events, catered meals, pro shop swag and more. Registration is simple, just go to the Lithia Pacific Amateur Golf Classic Facbook page and fill out the short form.

If you love golf, but have never played competitively and the thought of embarrassing yourself in an even casual setting is too intimidating, fear not. The Lithia Pacific Amateur Golf Classic has a non-competitive division for those who want to partake in all the golf and going’s on without the pressure of a leaderboard.  But if you have any inkling of wetting your feet, the Lithia Pacific Amateur Golf Classic’s casual competitive format is the perfect chance to realize your closet dream of clutching the claret jug on Sunday afternoon.

Last year’s event drew more than 500 competitors from around the country with roughly half of them participating for the first time to golf courses in the Bend area. Check out the Visit Central Oregon site or the Lithia Pacific Amateur Golf Classic Facbook page for all of the event details, including a preliminary list of this year’s golf courses, lodging partners, including the Riverhouse Hotel, and a schedule of events.
